Taking Control Of Your Brand with DIY PR

At House of DIY we’re all about championing ourselves, taking control of our brands, and casually smashing through our goals to reach our individual version of success.

The reason we champion brand-ownership so much is because no-one is going to communicate your brand with as much passion and authenticity as you.

Don’t get us wrong, we completely back you into building a team or working with like-minded people who share your brand values and support you, but ultimately you are the person at the helm. You’re steering this ship, and we’ll help you avoid the icebergs, weather the storm and make it to DIY paradise.

Here are 3 exercises to keep you on track:

Visualise your progress so far

  • It feels very daunting to be entirely in control of a business or a project, but the reason it’s even at your feet shows you’ve already taken steps to get here. If you ever feel imposter syndrome creeping in, write down your key career experience to visualise your progression and to make this next step feel more natural.

Manifest, baby!

  • Do some manifesting at the outset. Once you launch a business or start working for yourself, the admin can take over. Setting personal and business goals before you start, and reminding yourself of them regularly, can help keep you on track. I keep mine as a vision board on my Trello ‘Central To Do List’ so that I see it everyday.

Routine

  • Going from a 9-5 to self employed, or trying to manage a side hustle can at first feel incredibly freeing, but it also tends to bring along with it feelings of isolation and guilt. Decide set working hours, take breaks, find a space in your home, the local coffee shop, a co-work space that feels like work, so that when you’re off, you’re really off.
