Press Images: My top tips!

Press images are such a key element of a press kit and wider PR campaign. Have a read of my top tips for getting your images spot on!

Get a mix of profile, landscape and social sizes:

Landscape pictures are particularly useful for online )screen), portrait is good for mobile view, and square works best for social.

Keep it simple

Don’t overthink the location, and background, but do consider colour, texture and how to add a bit of personality.

Have Hi Res options available

Ask for a number of hi resolution images available for any print media features you secure (particularly important for product shots or artwork). You can also use these images for poster / flyers or any printing you might need to do. However always remember to link to the images in an online file, rather than attach large emails. You can use lower res images for everyday use.

Get comfortable with your photographer

Find someone you’re comfortable with to take your shots, and ensure they do business / branding portraits in the style you like before hiring anyone. If you’re looking to keep your costs down, just use a good quality mobile phone camera. Ask a friend to take a few shots (The Portrait mode feature is especially effective) and use your favourites.
