Want more success with your PR pitches? Yes please!

Are you sending out tons of emails, seemingly into the void?

Want a bigger piece slice of success with the press? Here are some handy tips for small business owners DIY PR pitching:

Personalise your pitches! Use first names, offer a greeting, be friendly - it goes miles!

Do your research - What is the journalist currently writing about, have you read some of their work and enjoyed it? If so, let them know!

Call to action - Show them youโ€™ve put the work in and pitch some something thatโ€™s relevant to them, e.g. a regular feature they run that your business would be perfect for!

Take the ideas to the journalist - Donโ€™t expect the media to come up with all the ideas for them to cover your business or product, take the ideas to them! Convenience is everything to someone who received hundreds of pitches a day.

Be professional and helpful - nature the relationship and fingers crossed itโ€™ll be one youโ€™ll go back to again and again.

Happy pitching!
