My PR Checklist
At the start of each week, write yourself out a PR checklist. These only need to be small tasks, but it will help you effortlessly include PR tasks into your everyday to-dos.
Maintaining DIY PR really is all about staying on top of a handful of regular tasks. These small but significant steps help to get you seen, heard, and on-message
Do a check-in of your monthly goals. What are you hoping to achieve over the next 4 weeks? Keep it specific, measured and relevant.
Update your call-to-action - What are you trying to achieve with your PR? Make sure you always have a call-to-action in mind. Whether itβs setting up profiles of you, reviews for a new product, or winning a small business award.
Refreshen your social media bios - are you including the latest links, press mentions? Are you pointing to your latest product or service?
Engage with media and influencers. Follow and build relationships with press publications, brands and people that you admire and youβd like to pitch to and collaborate with. It makes it much easier and less βcoldβ when you do reach out to them.
Read the news. Stay in the know when it comes to your industry or specialist subjects. It makes it easier to news hijack in response to trending topics!
